Southeastern Institute is located at 1628 Browning Road, Columbia, SC 29210. In December of 2016, the Columbia campus moved to its new larger location. The school encompasses a large amount of air conditioned/heated and well-lit classrooms/laboratories/media center and offices providing students with a modern and comfortable learning environment. In addition, the school provides ample free parking. All equipment used at the school is compatible with industry standards and effectively meets the objectives of the programs.
Medical Assisting, AAS
The program trains students to become multi-skilled professionals who assist physicians. Students will learn to perform duties under the direction of a physician in all areas of medical practice.
Occupational Therapy Assistant, AAS
Southeastern Institute’s Associate in Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant prepares students to work as an occupational therapy assistant under direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
Professional Clinical Massage Therapy
The Professional Clinical Massage Therapy program prepares students for employment in medical based facilities such as physicians' offices and rehabilitation centers, while also training students in the arts associated with a spa setting.
Electronic Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
Individuals trained in utilizing electronic healthcare records have the opportunity to improve the quality and convenience of patient care, increase patient participation in their own care, improve the accuracy of coding, diagnoses, and insurance processing, and increase the efficiency and cost savings of the medical practice.
Medical Assisting Certificate
Medical Assisting prepares you for a career that plays an integral role on the physician’s healthcare team. You will train to give injections, administer electrocardiograms, handle insurance claims, maintain patient records, take vital signs, and assist in minor surgical procedures.
The Pharmacy Technology program provides instruction in how to assist the pharmacist in the packing and distribution of medication and basic health care skills. Students will study the professional and technical skills necessary for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician. A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of this program.
