Southeastern Institute Celebrates the Graduates from the Class of 2017
Henri Baskins, Executive VP for Columbia Chamber of Commerce, will deliver the commencement address

Columbia, SC – July 2017 – The faculty and staff from the Charlotte campus of Southeastern Institute look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the graduates on Friday, July 21, 2017.  The graduation takes place at the First Baptist Church located at 1306 Hampton St. in Columbia at 7:00 p.m.  The 70 eligible graduates will receive their keynote address from Henri Baskins, Executive Vice President for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

“The staff and faculty at the Columbia campus are extraordinarily proud of the accomplishments of the graduates who will participate in this commencement ceremony. Our graduates are celebrating a great personal and professional triumph that is the direct result of their hard work, dedication, and overcoming of many obstacles,” stated Janet Clark, Campus President.

The valedictorian for the class of 2017 is Ashlin Grube who earned her diploma in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy and completed the Leadership Distinction Program. She knows her hard work played a part in her success but is thankful to her classmates, “My amazing classmates were not about to let me just slip through the program, they built me up and made me realize who I am.”  The salutatorian is Emily Banach who also earned her diploma in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy and completed the Leadership Distinction Program.

A native of South Carolina, Henri Baskins will be providing the keynote remarks to the graduates.  Baskins is the Executive Vice President at the Columbia Chamber of Commerce after retiring from AT&T with more than 40 years of service in a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, planning, government relations, and contract negotiations. She is involved in church missions and works with small entrepreneurial groups in third world countries, providing leadership training, business/strategic planning, personal coaching and motivational speeches.
